With a pure interest in music and art from an early age, Chris Demetras, aka Art of Hot, lives and breathes music. Chris began deejaying in 1992 in San Francisco Clubs (DV8, 1015 Folsom, Trocadero, DNA Lounge,The End Up, 111 minna) and has mastered the art of music production. Later in his career, he performed live and Dj under the name Art of Hot. Art of Hot was founded in San Francisco 2002 and started off as a duo Dave Richardson (Hyperdelic Video) and Chris Demetras playing live music on stage. Influenced by Visuals and sounds of Fischerspooner, The Orb, underground house and 80’s synth pop, Art Of Hot embarked on what has become a lifelong career in Live performance, studio production and Djing. In 2015 Dave Richardson pasted on and Chris continued. Chris broke into the Portland music scene after his move from San Francisco in 2010. He founded 3 monthly events: Flight, The Cockpit (Queer events) and FMPDX (streamline) based around local talent. Flight continues to this day with 8 years strong in putting together class shows and booking top Portland DJs. Art Of Hot maintains current residencies that include “Fever” on DWILD Radio , Seattle Pride (KDJE Events) and FLIGHT. In 2019 he started the label FLIGHT MUSIC RECORDINGS with co founded Carissa illy and releases music to this date. Recently, Chris has joined forces with virtual club: www.techno-club.net. This project includes some of the top players in techno & house such as: Tony Humphries, The Advent, Assembler Code, Marco Bailey – just to name a few…. Art of Hot’s breakthrough release, entitled “Disco Break”, was released on Looq records, which was featured in Microsoft XBox’s Dance Dance Revolution Ultramix 2. Art Of Hot’s track with Franck Valat, “Goodwill,” appeared on the compilation Minimal Club Affairs Volume 4, released on legendary German dance label ZYX. Prolific DJs such as Carl Cox, Jon Rundell and Angel Alanis have played art of hot’s material. Major acts that Chris played with include Ultra Nate at Seattle Pride, DVS1, Colette, Tim Green, Oliver $, Sterling Moss, Brett Johnson, Carlos Souffont, Dj Spun, Solid Disco, Gigamesh, and Wally Callerio.
